Not all desire is the cause of suffering

Buddhism teaches us that desire is the cause of suffering and that we must not be fettered by desire in order to be relieved of suffering. This is not the same as being without desire. The Buddha does not tell us to be desire-less. He tells us not to be ruled by desire. Furthermore, some desires are clearly good ones. The desire to live and to breathe, for instance. The desire to communicate and to love. Also, some desires that may be pleasure-oriented, or aesthetically motivated owing to some aspects of beauty can be okay to pursue, just as long as we are not slaves to this thought process. This is very important. Avoiding enslavement.
