Terrible title for an important subject

And what’s more, I wrote this topic title so long ago, I really lost the oooomph. Anyway, here goes. The point is, the Buddha repeats himself and also expands upon material when it is important. If it is mentioned once, it’s not important. It’s not an easter egg hunt. There is no big secret. Don’t look under the mossy stone in the corner. Look for the elephant in the room. This also applies to other religions. Say, oh I don’t know, just picking at random, um…the Bible, Old and New Testament combined, and take careful inventory of the mention of homosexuality and you come up rather short in numbers of citations. So is this an important topic for the “God” of Judiasm, Christianity, and Islam. Hell no. Don’t be stupid. Of course not. It’s an irrelevant issue. Give it a rest. Anyway, back to Buddhism. The Buddha will mention certain things that seem puzzling and curious and out of character at times. Put them aside. Don’t get worked up. Don’t reverse your understanding based on reams of text as a result of one turn of phrase. The end.
