The Cliche Has it all Wrong

Love is a two way street? Love is not best expressed with expectations of reward. We can behave this way, but it will lead to suffering. Compassionate care and interest in others is best given at all times without remorse or ulterior motive. It is a simple principle, but so difficult to follow. That is why the cliche has it all wrong, love is a one way street, not two way.
