Most of the cells in your body are less than 10 years old
The fundamental organizing principle, your chromosomes, for you as a person dates back to your conception. Your chronological age in reference to your life’s narrative begins with your delivery and ends with your heart’s stopping. The individual genes inside you are millions of years old. The atoms are billions of years old. Lastly, the vast majority of cells in your body are less than 10 years old. This NY Times article covered this topic back in 2005. I think these perspective shifts really do help us to understand our lives in different ways.
